The Briarwood Weekly Briarwood Presbyterian Church 2200 Briarwood Way Birmingham, AL 35243-2923 Address Service Requested { } Non-Profit Org. U.S. Postage PAID Permit # 2143 Birmingham, AL What is developing these days in Briarwood’s Embers to a Flame Conference schedule, and in the Fanning the Flame Coaching schedule? We’re glad you asked! Conferences for the rest of 2015 include: Victoria, Brazil, May 12–14; Reformed Theological Seminary (RTS) in Jackson, Miss., Sept. 10–12; and RTS in Orlando, Fla., Oct. 1–3. Conferences in 2016, scheduled and in process, include: Birmingham (Briarwood); Michigan, Orthodox Presbyterian (OPC); North Carolina, Associate Reformed Presbyterian (ARP); either Oklahoma or Missouri, Free Will Baptist (FWB); and international venues in South Africa and Northern Mexico. While it is exciting to show this list of opportunities the Lord is opening for us, it is even more exciting to explain that He is also opening the way for each of these denominations and countries (plus others) to establish Departments of Revitalization within their own denominations with official connections to our Embers and Fanning ministries. For instance, we are currently organizing for coaching churches in Ireland and South Africa, and for training coaches in these countries who will be able to coach according to our procedures with an obvious understanding of their own cultural characteristics. A possibility towards which to pray and work is the development of an Urban American Revitalization Association (there is praying and working already underway). The purpose of this association will be to provide leadership to our Revitalization ministry for cultivating relationships/opportunities for the Embers and Fanning ministries in urban and minority areas of the U.S., starting in Birmingham. While we have learned a great deal about how to minister in these contexts, we still have a lot to learn, and this Association will open the way for effective networking and relationship building toward effectual revitalization ministry in our cities. Thank you for praying for great success in these MOST IMPORTANT CHURCH REVITALIZATION MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES!
