THE BODYBUILDER Volume 20/Number 4 April 2015 a community of grace Our vision is to be a grace-motivated ministry recognized for biblical preaching and worship, bold outreach, and committed discipleship and growth. The Reason For The Season! BBC Family Update Our deepest sympathies go out to: We often hear the phrase, ‘Jesus is the Reason for the Season’ at Christmas time and while it may be a little frivolous, it serves as a healthy reminder of the true meaning of Christmas, especially when most people become very distracted by Christmas parties, seeing family, and buying gifts and gifts and more gifts. With all the busyness, we often overlook the real meaning of the celebration itself—the birth of Jesus Christ. We are about to celebrate Easter, the most important day for believers. The day death was defeated—the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Unlike Christmas, we don’t get as sidetracked with the hoopla of a secular holiday and commercialism, however, our focus on the amazing love that He had for each of us, is sometimes blurred by other distractions throughout the year. So often our schedules get busy, we face trials, we experience hurt and pain, and our focus tends to shift to ourselves and we might forget the victory that was achieved that Resurrection Day. But when we see our problems through the perspective of Christ’s accomplishment on the cross, we have a hope like none other this world has to offer. While we are careful not to minimize the reality of storms in our life, the life we find in Him overshadows anything we might experience. The truth of Christ’s victory over death is life-changing! Christ’s resurrection brings hope and joy; it brings comfort and encouragement. Our Savior is alive and He reigns above, and until the day we enter into His presence, we can rest on His promises of grace. As we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, let us celebrate the victory that is ours, not only in the coming Day when we will see Him face to face, but in our lives today. —Lee and Kenda Fletcher in the passing of Kenda’s father. —Janet Konczak in the passing of her brother.
