Art on the Island photography competition April 2015 terms and conditions 1. The Art on the Island April 2015 Photographic Competition is open to all members of the public subject to 2 and 3 below. 2. Employees of Century City Property Owners Association (CCPOA), the Century City Arts Foundation, freelance contributors to CCPOA or anyone else connected with the Competition may not enter the Competition. 3. The Competition is open to all photographers (both amateur and professional). 4. Entrants into the Competition shall be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions. 5. To enter the Competition, please mail [email protected]. You must submit a minimum of one high resolution jpeg photographic image, taken by you, the subject of which relates to the given theme, that being “Century City’s WOW factor”. Images to be submitted in 8x12inches at 300DPI using the RGB colour space 6. Photographs submitted must have been taken in and around Century City. 7. The image must not have been published previous. 8. The opening date of the Competition is 30th March 2015. The closing date for the competition is Friday 10th April 2015 at 11.00pm. Entries received outside this time period will not be considered. The Century City Arts Foundation reserves the right in its absolute discretion to extend the closing date. 9. A minimum of one entry and a maximum of 4 entries are permitted per person entering the Competition 10. By submitting an entry to the Competition, you grant Century City: a. Permission for your entry to be published on the Century City and CCPOA websites and you grant The Century City Arts Foundation a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual licence (with a right to sub-license) to use, republish, edit and/or modify your Competition entry in any/all media (including in electronic format, hard copy and in Century City communications and marketing) as described in these Terms and Conditions); and b. The right to use your name and country of residence for the sole purpose of identifying you as the author of your entry and/or as a winner of the Competition. 11. You also hereby waive all your moral rights in your entry. Notwithstanding the afore-going waiver, in order to use entries as intended and advised in these Terms and Conditions, (i) Century City Arts Foundation may need to modify entries, including but not limited to resizing, cropping or colour adjustment as necessary, provided that Century City Arts Foundation shall endeavour in undertaking such modifications to maintain the integrity of your entry as originally created; and (ii) Century City Arts Foundation shall provide a picture credit for all entries. 12. You own the copyright to your Competition entry as its author. Your entry must be your own work, must not be copied, must not contain any third-party materials and/or content that you do not have permission to use, must not include any trade marks, and must not show inappropriate or dangerous behaviour, or otherwise be obscene, defamatory, distasteful, offensive, or in breach of any applicable law or regulation, or in breach of any confidentiality obligations owed by you to third parties. If Century City Arts Foundation has reason to believe your entry is not your own work or otherwise breaches these Terms and Conditions, then Century City Arts Foundation may not consider it and may disqualify it. 13. Entrants confirm that each individual whose image is featured in the Competition entry has given consent for the use of his/her image in connection with this Competition and in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. Where an individual whose image is featured in a Competition entry is aged less than 18 years the entrant confirms that the parent or guardian of that individual has given the relevant consent. Picking the winners 14. Century City Arts Foundation with an independent judge, Studio 22 (together the “Judges”) will choose one winner from the Competition entries received in accordance with these Terms and Conditions (the “Winner”) and two runners up. 15. When choosing the winner and runners up, the Judges will be looking for the most well composed, artistic and original image that evokes the best interpretation of the theme. 16. The Judges’ decision of who the Winner is will be made on the day of the Competition that being Sunday 26th April and will be announced at the Century City Natural Goods market at 1pm on Sunday 26th April. The Judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Prizes 17. The Winners will each have their pictures displayed on the Century City facebook page and website. 18. The Winner for 2015 will win a Vanguard Espod CX 203AGH Tripod Kit 19. The Runners up will win : 2nd place - A2 professional Canvas print and Stretch 3rd Place - Studio22 Cappuccino 30 page A4 Coffee Table Book 20. The Winner will be notified by Century City by telephone or email on or after Sunday 26th April at 1pm, should they not be present on the day of the Competition. 21. The prizes cannot be exchanged or transferred by you and cannot be redeemed by you for cash or any other prize. You must pay all other costs associated with the prize and not specifically included in the prize. 22. We retain the right to substitute the prizes with another prize of similar value in the event that the original prize offered is not available. Some other rules 23. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint submissions are not allowed. 24. We take no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason. Proof of delivery of the entry is not proof of receipt. 25. Century City may pass entrants’ details to third parties and/or otherwise engage third party providers in connection with this Competition where the third party is acting on Century City’s behalf for the purposes of administering this Competition and/or any subsequent publicity, and/or for the purposes of sending you Century Citys marketing materials; and/or as otherwise required by law. 26. Century City reserves the right at any time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Competition with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its reasonable control The decision of Century City Arts Foundation in all matters relating to the Competition is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into. 27. Century City shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations relating to this Competition where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure. Selected entries will be exhibited at the Intaka Island Eco Centre on Sunday 26th April from 9am to 2pm.
