Style Assistant Location: London Reporting to: Style Editor Company Overview Time Out London is a comprehensive arts and entertainment multi-platform media business, delivering engaging features, local listings and critical reviews to active and informed residents and visitors of London. Sometimes irreverent but always intelligent, Time Out London provides passionate coverage of music, film, theater, dance, shopping, dining and more. Time Out London is the head office of the Time Out Group, the global media business delivering local information and cultural guidance in 67 cities across 37 countries and encompassing a worldwide audience of more than 34 million. The Role Time Out London is looking for an enthusiastic, bright and meticulous Style Assistant on the shopping desk. An interest in all things fashion, beauty and lifestyle in London is a must, but that must be underscored by a diligent approach to research, excellent organisational skills and an aptitude for producing accurate, witty copy that’s consistent with the Time Out tone of voice. This role would be ideal for someone who has already got some relevant industry experience or a few internships under their belt and is looking for a permanent role. Key Responsibilities Writing sales and events listings, and uploading features and events to the style section of Time Out’s website. Daily research into fashion and shopping news and product round-ups. Picture research to source images for listings and features. Adding venue reviews to the CMS, and putting together round-ups and top tens for the site. Contacting PRs, store-owners and event organisers to fact check and get quotes, and developing a strong relationship with PRs across the industry. Representing the section at industry events and launches. Delivering content on time, to brief and to the standards laid out by Time Out style guides. Calling in and returning products for shoots. Some basic admin. Ad hoc features writing for section. Social media publishing of shareable fashion content Skills and Experience Excellent proven writing skills IT literate, with knowledge of a CMS and Photoshop. Demonstrable love and knowledge of fashion, from high-end designers to weekend jumble sales. Super organised and able to multi-task Eager to try out all aspects of a fashion role, from producing enthusiastic copy and calling in products to shoot, to managing their safe return and checking the finer details of a sample sale Have an established black book of contacts in the industry. Must be active on social media, with an eye for shareable content Successful candidates will be required to attend at least one face-to-face interview at our London office.
