THEME:
Thomas believed because he saw the risen Jesus. Although
we have never seen Him, we believe that Jesus is the Christ,
begotten by God. We give thanks to the Lord that He has
formed us into a community of believers, united in the Spirit.

weekend, April 11/12. Please bring your donations to church
no later than the 12 PM Mass.
OPERATION RICE BOWL
If you forgot to return your Rice Bowl, please do so as soon as
possible. A special collection bin is located by the side altar.
ARCHBISHOP’S ANNUAL APPEAL
The Archbishop’s Annual Appeal changes lives through
service to the Lord. In addition to assisting the underserved of
our communities, your gift helps those cultivating a vocation
to the priesthood. Your gift to the Appeal is an investment in
the future of our Church and our faith. Thank you to the
parish families who have made a gift or pledge to the 2015
Archbishop’s Annual Appeal. If you have not yet participated,
please prayerfully consider doing so. Although we need a
number of extraordinary commitments to meet our goal,
please know that every dollar of your gift will have a major
impact.
A CHEERFUL GIVER
A cheerful giver does not count the cost of what he gives. His
heart is set on pleasing and cheering the one to whom the gift
is given.
- St. Julian
A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE
In today’s gospel Jesus teaches, “Blessed are those who have
not seen and believe.” Accepting someone as they are,
without demanding they prove themselves or meet our
expectations, creates rich relationship. Without acceptance a
home is only a house and a family is just a group of house
mates.

CATHOLIC LIGHTHOUSE CORNER
Fatima: Living the Message - Fr. Jason Brooks, L.C.
In a time of lost innocence, the faith of three children inspired
thousands and made the world believe in miracles. In this talk,
Fr. Brooks brings to light why Fatima is regarded by many as
the most important spiritual event of the past 100 years.
LENTEN GIVING CROSSES UPDATE
Many of those who took a Lenten Giving Cross card have
completed the activity described there and have returned the
card. The returns show that many good works are being done.
These include contributions to agencies which serve the needy,
and participation in ongoing parish projects such as the shelter
meals and snack drive. Some people who took a yellow card
with a prayer have copied the prayer and returned the card, but
you are most welcome to keep the card if you wish to continue
to say the prayer throughout the year.
Thank you to all who are participating in this project. Please
continue to return your cards in the collection basket when you
complete the task. This provides wonderful feedback on what
is accomplished through this program.
THANK YOU from the DAISIES
Girl Scout Daisy Troop 10263, from Corpus Christi School,
would like to thank the parishioners for making the Cookie
Booth Sale a HUGE success! The girls learned a lot and also
raised money for some good causes, including the Cookies for
Heroes program that delivers cookies to men and women in
our military. Thank you for your generous support.

generously support these collections.
We are also extremely grateful to Andrew, Amy & Tim
Verre who did a great job coordinating the meals for
Immaculate Conception Shelter this past year.

Please join us - help is always needed.
APRIL CATHOLIC TRANSCRIPT
Corpus Christi got quite a bit of coverage in the April edition
of the Catholic Transcript. In the article about bestowing St.
Joseph Medals on 206 parishioners (pages 3,7), John & Marie
Burnosky were listed as Corpus Christi’s recipients. The
Archbishop’s St. Patrick Day Breakfast article (page 17)
quoted parishioner John Brett and his appreciation for Catholic
schools. On page 5, “ ‘Kind hearts’ prompt women to launch
clinic in Honduras” tells the beautiful story of our own Mary
Pergiovanni and Nancy Kiely and their work to establish
Clinica la Amistad (Friendship Clinic). Visit
www.catholictranscript.org to read that article.
JOIN the HOMEFRONT TEAM
This year HomeFront Day will be on Saturday, May 2nd.
HomeFront Day is sponsored by HomeFront, Inc., where
parishes all over the state accept a project to repair and fix up
the home of low income families. Together with Sacred Heart
and Church of the Incarnation, we have had excellent teams
participate in HomeFront for over 17 years now. There is a
great deal of work to be done to a home in Old Wethersfield,
near Standish Park and Mikey’s Place, including painting, yard
clean-up and minor carpentry. We need a lot of workers: even
just 1 hour of your time would be very much appreciated. You
must be at least 14 years of age, but young people ages 14 to
17 may work with a signed release from their parents, and
supervision. Please complete the following sign-up form and
put it in the collection basket. For more information and/or to
sign up, you can contact Pat McGovern at 860-563-7773 or
Tim
Nixon
at
860-558-4575,
email:
[email protected]. Please consider donating some
time for this very worthwhile project.
