MINISTRY CONTEXT
LIFE Recovery Association is a Christian charity that exists as part of Christ’s church. The person called to
this ministry must be in agreement with LIFE Recovery’s confession of faith, mission, vision and core
values and must have a passion for this ministry. The incumbent must be in agreement with our Code of
Conduct, Community Standards and live a life consistent with it.
JOB SUMMARY -PRIMARY FOCUS
The Administrator position is responsible for the administration of the charity. You will oversee the
reception, new client intake, facilities, day-to-day finances, administration, payroll & human resource as
well as providing support to the ED when required.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
 Answer phone calls
 Participates in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of program activities
 Participate in leadership team meeting s and minute accordingly
 Analyze and screen intake applications of potential clients
 Assist new clients with completion of application forms and orient them to the program
 Liaise with MHSD to ensure funding in place for clients on income assistance/disability
 Network with outside agencies and referral agencies to attract new clients
 Participation in the strategic planning of programs
 Liaise with staff and volunteers as required
 Collaborate in the scheduling of staff and/or volunteers as required
 Co-ordinate house and alumni house repairs and maintenance
 Oversee record keeping and filing of documents
 Oversee timesheets, payroll records and administration of employee benefits
 Processing and approval of accounts payable and receivables
 Processing bank reconciliation in Simply Accounting and preparation of financial reports
 Oversee counting of thrift store money
 Processing deposits and depositing at the bank including Thrift Store
 Processing Government per-diem funding
 Updating ZOHO database
 Overseeing charitable receipts data entry
 Assist the Executive Director with projects if time permits
 Other duties as assigned

STATEMENT OF RELATIONSHIPS
The Administrator is a member of the Recovery Home leadership team. The Administrator reports
directly to the Executive Director, but works closely with the Addiction Counselors in overseeing the day
to day activities of the Recovery Homes. The Administrator works in collaboration with all staff and
volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the Recovery Homes. The relationship should be of a
servant leader in giving direction and guidance to staff.
The Recovery Home program makes use of volunteers, practicum students and outside professionals
from time-to-time. The Administrator works collaboratively and gives direction and guidance where
required.
The Administrator works collegially with the Thrift Store Manager to assist in various administrative,
human resource, client and finance matters related to the Store.
The Administrator from time-to-time works collegially with the Board of Directors and its committees
but still under the authority of the Executive Director.

A degree or diploma in Administration from a recognized, fully accredited university or equivalent
training and experience. Experience working within a Recovery program would be an asset.
Experienced in using Simply Accounting software and Excel to produce monthly financial
statements for the Board.
Knowledge of alcohol & drug issues
Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical skills and decision making ability

Demonstrated ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential material and situations
Accurate record keeping
Proficient in current Windows and Microsoft based computer operating environment
Skills in personnel management
Basic First Aid Training Certificate or willingness to obtain it
Food Safe Certificate or willingness to obtain it
Current Class 5 Drivers License (minimum)
Sobriety of at least five years ie., no abuse of alcohol, drugs or other mood-altering chemicals
Agreement with LIFE Recovery’s confession of faith and code of conduct
Has a reputation of living a lifestyle that honors and uplifts the name of Christ
The incumbent must regularly attend and participate in their home church (Heb 10:24-25).
