They left without a hitch and we are all sure they will have a fantastic time. Our fingers are crossed, hoping that the weather is kind and they are able to make the most of the flying fox, the maze and orienteering activities that they are scheduled to do today. There is also a kite making session where the students make their own kites, so maybe a little wind might be helpful! Whilst I am talking about outdoor activities I want to mention hats. Now that we are in May, there is no need for hats to be worn at play and lunch times till the 1st of September. Speaking of being outdoors, I would like to apologise for the confusion over the change of dates for the working bee. I understand that there were conflicting dates reported on the website and in the newsletters, and that led to some people not being aware of the change. We rescheduled it to be closer to Education Week and our Open Evening event as we felt this would allow us to make sure the school was looking its welcoming best. The new date is the 17th of May at 9am. If you can attend that would be great as there are plenty of jobs lined up! (How are you?) at the moment and having fun with the Languages Online website. This is a Department of Education resource and freely available. There are songs, posters and interactive games all for free. All levels in the school have used different sections and it gives the students an excellent opportunity to extend their Spanish beyond the classroom. Usernames and passwords will be sent home by classroom teachers along with the booklets to record student reading. When students complete the Challenge and their books have been logged online, please return the booklets to classroom teachers. Deb Chamberlain OSHClub Hi everyone The Preps are settling well into OSHClub. They are becoming more confident with OSHClub routines and the buddy system is a huge success! They will start walking down on their own to OSH this term. If you child requires breakfast in the morning remind them to let us know. We don't want anyone going to school on an empty tummy. If parents have any suggestions as to how we can improve our program, please leave a comment on one of the ladybugs that are displayed on the wall. Planning forward, we are gathering ‘outside’ items for our autumn theme days, as autumn is upon us. Children are beginning to look for fallen leaves and other autumn materials that inspire them. We ask that all families donate any recycling materials including but not limited to: boxes (shoe, tissue, anything), books, games, clothes for dress ups, cushions, blankets. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call the program on 0438 565 727. Calls will be answered/returned between 7-9am and 3-6pm.
