Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity: Let us recall the
incredible dignity of being created in the image and
likeness of the Trinity. Wisdom in today’s first reading
tells us that “I was beside him as his craftsman, and I was
his delight day by day, playing before him all the while,
playing on the surface of his earth: and I found delight in
the human race.” God delights in us! Do you believe
that, or do you expect him to send thunderbolts from the
sky?
Worship leader Chris Tomlin has a song titled
“Indescrible.” The lyrics capture some of what we are
trying to communicate here.
“From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea…
Creation’s revealing your majesty. From the colors of
Fall to the fragrance of Spring ….every creature unique
in the song that it sings. Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and you know them by
name. You are amazing God. All powerful, untamable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim,
You are amazing God.”
The Holy Trinity is amazing. As you gaze on the sky on
a starlit night remember, that you are known and loved
by God. As you peer into the eyes of a newborn child,
remember that the child is “fearfully and wonderfully
made.” As you look out upon the Ocean, consider the
depths of the sea and all the creatures: sea turtles,
dolphins, sharks, whales, jelly fish, clown fish (Nemo!)all fashioned, created, and designed by God’s wisdom.
Consider the 320 species of hummingbirds that migrate
back to our feeders at this time of year: all designed by
God, all unique. Mountains….same thing.
We should fall to our knees as we consider the heights
and depths of God and God’s love. May our celebration
of the Most Holy Trinity be a reminder of our dignity as
God’s children. Indeed, “life is worth living.”

MATRIMONY
A beautiful sacrament full of
blessings, romance, love,
commitment, comedy, giving,
new life, joys, sorrows, adventure, challenges,
responsibilities, growth, memories and more.
When a couple gets married, it has been said both go back
to school again, the school of marriage. They begin to
learn again, to learn to love each other in a deeper way.
They join themselves to each other to become one, as our
first reading stated (Gen 2:24), without losing their individuality. Becoming one doesn’t happen overnight. It is
something that is learned and that the couple becomes
better at as they share their married life together. Becoming one means loving each other, sharing their lives with
each other, and taking each other into consideration always. Becoming one means getting rid of all selfishness
because there is no room for selfishness in marriage. If
selfishness is not rooted out or creeps in later on, it is sure
to cause problems. If God blesses the marriage with children, then the children are taken into consideration in all
that the couple does. So for these many reasons I have
heard it said that marriage is a school of love.
When two people get married they bring with them to their
marriage normal human weaknesses and discover weaknesses in the other which previously they did not know.
This is an opportunity to love the other, heal the other, and
forgive the other. There are times when like at the wedding
at Cana it will seem as if the wine really has run out, times
when they forgive each other and make a fresh start. For
that reason I have also heard marriage described as a
school of forgiveness.

Next weekend at all the Masses we will have a commissioning ceremony of our new liturgical ministers. Participation in the Mass as Eucharistic Minister or Lector
is a privilege because we celebrate the events of our
redemption. We are grateful for our many volunteers
and pray for them as they journey to serve our Lord.

Do you know what your BLOOD PRESSURE is?
Each of us is a “creature,” whose origin is the loving gaze
of God, who looks upon us “within His very self” and
draws us forth from this Love. This is the love that is the
very being of God; the love of the Father for the Son, the
love of the Son for the Father, the Holy Spirit that is love.
This is what being created in the image and likeness of
God means: to be drawn forth from love; created for love.
Thus, every human life conceived in the womb is conceived with a spark of divinity! No wonder we cherish all
life as sacred and worthy of the dignity of the children of
God. No wonder we believe that all life conceived in the
womb is worth all our effort to protect so that the child
may come forth from the Light of God into the light of the
world.
