Michael Parkinson CIA CRMA CISA CRISC Chair of the Standards Australia OB-007 Risk Management Committee. Michael Crutcher was the editor of The Courier-Mail, for more than three years. Prior to that role, Michael had stints as The Courier-Mail’s deputy editor, chief of staff and investigations editor, during which he set up and ran the newspaper’s award-winning investigative unit. Michael received the Queensland Media Award for investigative work during that stint. Michael has extensive experience in sports journalism covering two Olympic Games, six Australian cricket tours, Wallaby Tests in South Africa and New Zealand and the 2003 Rugby World Cup. Outside of the media, Michael serves as president of QMusic – the peak industry body for Queensland’s contemporary music industry. Michael is an internal auditor of more than 25 years’ experience. He became an IT internal auditor in the early 1980s after 10 years in Information Technology. Michael became National President of IIA-Australia in 1999, serving until 2001. He was the International Secretary of the Board of IIA Global 2009-10 and Vice Chair (Professional Services) 2010-11. During 1994-97 and 2000-01 Michael represented Australia and New Zealand as International Vice-President of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). Director in the government Michael currently serves as chair of the Standards Australia OB-007 Risk Management services practice of KPMG Committee. This committee participates in the development of international (ISO) standards Canberra. and guides on risk management and writes relevant guides for use in Australia and New Zealand. Michael is Australia’s delegate to the relevant ISO committee.
