Thanksgiving- November is the month most associated with Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, most people associate that word with turkey and pumpkin pie. However, as
Christians we know that it is natural response by those who have been saved in Christ.
Thanksgiving in the life of a believer is both an attitude and an action. Our attitudes of
thanksgiving should always be on our hearts because of Christ. Colossians 2:6–7 Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him
and established in the faith, just as you were taught, overflowing with gratitude. (HCSB) Our
heart filled with joy will guide us always look on God’s provision for us. This will
guard our hearts as we face the trials of life. Thanksgiving also guides us to service.
Romans 12:1 Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your
bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship.
(HCSB) It is out of what Christ has done for us that we serve him and even if called
upon give up our lives. Thanksgiving has to be the ignition for service in our lives. If
we do not serve out of thankfulness our service will be more duty than delight. Is
thanksgiving the reason you serve God? To Christians, thanksgiving is more than a
holiday it is life. Let’s be thankful everyday to our God and serve him!

After 11 Worship
Before we travel and go our separate ways ,let us gather around with our
church family and Give Thanks to God! Many have said how hard it is to get to
know each other with 2 services. This event is design to bring the whole
church together for a great meal and fellowship. The Kitchen Team is providing Turkey, Ham, Bread and Drinks. All we ask is you bring a side and a dessert. If for any reason you aren’t able to bring food please don’t hesitate to
come. All are welcome! We had a huge turn out last year and looking forward
to a great tie of fellowship. If you know a family wanting to meet people from
your church family this is a great time to come!
A special Thank you to all the classes, committees, and individuals that showed their appreciation to us during Pastor and Staff
Appreciation Month. We were all overwhelmed by the gifts of
food, money, and treats. We give thanks to God to the wonderful
church family that God has gifted us to be part that shows us such
love and encouragement. Let us grow in our love of each other as
we reach NKY and the Nations together .
The Balanta Mane of Guinea-Bissau— About 20,000 Balanta live mainly in
north Guinea-Bissau on the West Coast of Africa. They are related to other
Balanta peoples and live side-by-side with them, but have been introduced to
Islam by the Mandinkas. They have their own Balanta Mane language and do not
speak the related Balanta Kentohe language. In the towns they would understand
and speak Creole and maybe some Kentohe, but in the villages Balanta Mane is
needed. They live a simple and poor lifestyle and raise cattle. Here is a Prayer
request from an IMB missionary that works with this people group: “The
Balanta Mane of Guinea-Bissau have no one teach them about the ultimate sacrifice, Jesus. For this reason, they continue to do animal sacrifices in hopes of finding peace. They claim to be animist, Muslim and Catholic, but the truth is, the
Balanta Mane have become synchronistic cultural Catholics and Muslims. They
don’t know Jesus as their Lord and Savior and there is no one sharing the Gospel
or having any success among them. Although the king is a very sweet, friendly
man, his people are known, in general, by local Guinea-Bissau evangelical Christians as being ‘too hard’ to reach with the Gospel. Our term of service will be up
soon, and it saddens me greatly to know that once our visit with him was over,
we would probably never see him again in this life or the next. Please pray that
the King of kings will be allowed to have His rightful throne in the hearts of the
Balanta Mane people. Ask the Lord to send someone to shed light on the Truth to
these people.”

What an amazing year of ministry we have had in
One80 Student Ministries! We just completed a
packed summer that included an incredible week of
Mission Fuge Camp in South Carolina, a great weekend of Camp40 at Jonathon Creek Conference Center
and a life-changing mission trip to Nicaragua. If you
throw in a weekend trip to Cedar Point (see above), I
can honestly say that it has been a pretty remarkable
year.

setting up the youth calendar for 2015. Please be in
prayer as we attempt to plan activities that are God
honoring and that will help us grow in our faith and
devotion to Him. We are planning on doing a week
