in a Nutshell
The body of Christ is a complex interplay
of diverse gifts and talents. Such gifts
must not be wasted, they are to be used
for building up the Church into a vibrant,
Spirit-filled community. As today‗s
parable of the talents
suggests, use of gifts
involves the courage to
take responsibility and
take risks.

STEWARDSHIP
REFLECTIONS
16 November 2014
33rd Sunday Ordinary Time
“Well done, good and faithful
servant; you have been faithful over a
little, I will set you over much…”Matthew 25:21
God expects us to nurture and
develop the gifts He has given us
and then generously give back
with increase. He doesn‘t want
us to waste or hoard the gifts He
has given us; He expects us to
grow our gifts, use them wisely
and be generous with them.
PARISH NEWS and NOTICES
Use your Talents for His Glory
We have all received different talents and gifts. In the same
way, we are expected to utilize them well, each in proportion
to his/her ability, as we will all be called upon to give account
of our stewardship. Every one of us has something to offer
thus, God abhors indifference and an attitude that portrays
that it is not worth trying. Give it a go; remembering that, we
are to serve God with the gifts, talents, treasures and graces
He has given us.
May God help us to make good use of the gifts, talents,
treasures, time, and resources He has given us for the good
of our churches and for His own greater glory.
We wish to express our heartfelt condolences to Jenny Hatcher
on the death of her dear Mum, Helena King. May we all gather
in St Mary‘s Church, Gatton at 11:00am on Wednesday 19th,
to pay our last respects to Helena as we celebrate the
memorial service for the happy repose of her soul.
May the soul of Helena and the souls of all the faithful
departed, through the mercy of God rest in perfect peace.
Amen.
Peace Be with you All.
Fada Malachy

REDFROGS PANCAKE DONATIONS
Each year Redfrogs help thousands of year 12 graduates at
schoolies. They are there to be a positive peer presence in
alcohol-fuelled environments where young people gather.
Refrogs educate young people on safe partying behaviours, and
promote and provide non-alcoholic and/or diversionary activities
that engage young people in these environments. As part of this,
Redfrogs volunteers provide breakfast to many schoolies by
having ―Pancake Breakfasts‖. To be able to do this Redfrogs
require 10,000 bottles of pancake shaker mix. This year I am
volunteering as a Redfrog at schoolies on the Gold Coast and
would appreciate your help. If you could either donate pancake
shakers or make a financial contribution so I can purchase them
it would be greatly appreciated. These donations can be left at
the parish office in Laidley or Peter Webster Optometrist in
Gatton up until the 18th November. Thank you in advance for
your support. Clare Webster
