Sportsman’s Club
The Rockville Area Sportsman’s Club met on November 3rd
with President Jim Massmann
calling to order and Secretary/
Treasurer Jan Mick and CEO
Mike Mick reporting.
Gary Grams reported that TriCounty Abstract, (bar building) is
working on the contract for the
building. Jan Mick will send a
copy of these minutes and the
Tax ID # to them. Jim Massmann
reported that closing is on
Wednesday at this time.
Gary Grams moved that
Rockville Area Sportsman’s Club
Inc. sells the property, currently
owned by the Club, located at 201
Broadway E, Rockville, MN
56369 to Mark H. Schneider. Seconded by Brain Mick. Passed ununanimously.

new windows are installed in the
building but still need trim which
is being finished before closing. A
crew will meet at the property at
5pm on Tuesday to finish up.
Thanks to Jim for spearheading
this.
Jan Mick, 253-2917, has the

the whole year. The Club purchased five in the Clubs name.
This supports disabled persons
and veterans.

Salvation Army Sunday
supper
For three years the cluster
parishes of Rockville, Luxemburg
and Pearl Lake have been
preparing and serving the
evening meal at the Salvation
Army in St. Cloud on the 2nd
Sunday of each month. A big
thanks to the parish chair couples and the others who volunteer
so graciously to fill this need.
There is a need for more volunteers from the parishes. It’s a
wonderful way to live the faith.
Families are encouraged to do
this as a faith formation activity.
Call Laurie and Steve Opatz for
more info 252-6926.
Health Care Law Loophole
There appears to be a big loophole in the Affordable Care Act
that allows large companies to refuse to cover in-patient hospital
stays in any of their health insurance plans.
Health plans for individuals
and those working for smaller
employers must include coverage
within at least 10 categories of essential health benefits that include maternity care, prescription
drugs and hospitalization. The
health care law is much more
strident about what insurance
must cover for these people than
for those at large employers. ObamaCare is not well designed. This
is a loophole. Large companies
are not required to cover hospital
stays, one of the essentials they
pass the minimum value test by
offering other coverage. And even
if they didn’t employers would be
allowed to offer these no hospital
coverage plans as long as one of
their plans meets the minimum
value test. Workers may not realize how skinny these plans are
until it’s too late.
These plans cost less and are
most attractive to companies that
employ low wage workers who
can’t afford the higher premiums
that come with the better plans.
This really is not affordable
health care when the essential
health benefits are not covered.
National Business Coalition on
Health CEO Brian Klepper, says:
“These plans are preying on people who don’t have resources.”
Another flaw in Obama Care.
Christian Women’s Group
St. Margaret’s Christian
Women’s Group of Mary of the
Immaculate Conception Parish of
Rockville meets on Tuesday, November 11th beginning with the
7pm Mass and followed by a very
special presentation entitled “Nutrition & Health” given by Ann
Neu, a registered dietician and local parishioner. All members of
the women’s parish group are
urged to attend, plus all those
who are not yet members. You
will be welcomed joyfully. Come
one and all. (Meeting and talk in
the parish center after Mass
starts approximately at 7:35 or
so. All welcome. Bring along a
neighbor or a friend).
City Council
The regular monthly meeting
of the Rockville City Council is on
Wednesday, November 12th (one
week early this month because of
the Veterans Day Holiday). Remember it’s at 6pm in the City
Hall. Open to the public with an
open forum at the beginning and
at the end, for any who wish to
speak.
*****
The regular Over 60 Dinner
and Card Party at the Rockville
Parish Center is on the third
Monday of the month, November
17th. All those over 60 and their
significant other are always welcome. This is free, co-sponsored
by MIC Parish and the Parish
Womens Group.
