The Rev Dr. Don Donaghey retired in 2012 after serving 21 1/2 years as
minister of Knox, Dundas and 38 years of ministry in the Presbyterian
Church in Canada. Though retired, he is currently serving as Interim
Moderator of both St. Columba and Roxborough Park Presbyterian
congregations.
FAITH FINDERS: A Family Prayer
WELCOME to all joining us in worship this morning. Your presence and
participation honours God and increases our joy.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for helping guide us on the paths we
take in life as well as with the difficult choices we
make along the way.
Please help us always to be aware of your
guidance, and always to choose the path you have
set before us, even when it seems hard, or we
might feel unsure.

reminder of your visit. If you would like to know more about us, fill in
the information insert in the card, detach it and place it on the offering
plate. Before you leave, please sign the guest book in the vestibule.
Infant care is available during the service. Please feel free to keep your
little ones with you in church. For the nursery, go through the door at the
front of the sanctuary (right side). Once through, walk to the end of the
corridor where you will see the nursery. Washrooms are available in the
same corridor. Children are invited to attend Faith Finders during the
worship service. Our congregation follows the Presbyterian Church in
Canada Leading with Care policy, which seeks to ensure a “Climate of
Safety for Children, Youth and Vulnerable Adults”.

the Bible text and commentary printed in the booklet. It will help you grow
as a more disciplined disciple of Jesus.

CENTRAL BOOK CLUB - Where were you when President John F.
Kennedy was shot? If you were too young to remember or not even born yet,
come join those of us who do remember at the next Book Club on Sunday,
November 23rd at 7:00 pm in the Allan Room when Shannon Smith will
take us back to the early 1960’s in reminiscence of what life was like at that
time as relayed in Stephen King’s suspenseful novel 11-22-63. Even if you
haven’t read the novel, do join us as we step back in time to relive a
captivating blend of mysterious history and intriguing fantasy.

FOOD DRIVE –We are continuing to collect donations of non-perishable
food items that will be given through Hamilton Food Share, to less fortunate
Hamilton families. Please place any items that you bring in the blue boxes
located at the front entrance in the narthex. A list of “Most Needed Items”
has been posted for your consideration. Thank you in advance for your
donations.
MEN’S BREAKFAST CLUB – The next meeting of the Men’s Breakfast
Club is this Saturday, November29th at 8:00 am in the Church Hall. This
is an excellent opportunity to meet up for good food and a time for
fellowship. Full breakfast will be available at a cost of $7.00. Please make
sure you sign up in advance on the list in the Church Hall.
BUFFET LUNCHEONS are served at Crieff Hills Conference and
Retreat Centre on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11:30 am and
12:45 pm from December 2nd to December 18th. Bring your co-workers,

November is Stewardship month at Central when a ministry
is highlighted each Sunday. This week we are highlighting
the
MINISTRY OF MISSION
Did You Know? In 2006 changes were made to Canada’s tax laws making the donation of stock one of the most advantageous ways to support your favourite charity. You pay no tax on the capital gains that have accumulated on the securities and the gift is still eligible for a charitable tax receipt. To see if the donation of stock is suitable for your situation, please contact your tax consultant. If you wish to make a stock donation to Central Church, please contact our bookkeeper, Michelle Frebold, at 905.522.9098, Ext. 27. A congregation leads a double life in order to be faithful to
its Lord. Though we gather for worship, discipleship and
fellowship, we scatter for mission. The church is a mission
people, sent out to serve the world that God loves. Locally,
we’re involved in a range of mission initiatives, not least the
Out of the Cold program. We also reach out across Canada
and the world through our commitment to the national and
international budget of the Presbyterian Church in Canada
known as Presbyterians Sharing. In this way we participate
in everything from planting new congregations, training a
new generation of ministers, coming alongside aboriginal
peoples, as well as supporting missionaries who work
overseas. The figure below also includes what we give as a
congregation to the work of the Presbytery of Hamilton and
the Synod of South-west Ontario, money that supports local
mission such as the Inner City Outreach Mission and
Almanarah Mission here in Hamilton, as well as the Synod’s
Camp Kintail. We cannot begin to name all of the ways in
which mission happens among us. In 2014, the budget
required $72,415 for the ministry of mission.
