This still needs to be approved by Grand Lodge and once approved they will let us know when it will be in effect. As I sit and write this we are in the middle of a blizzard and winter is in full force. Tis’ the season to come down to the Lodge and warm up and have a fun time with all your friends. I am getting excited about the direction the Lodge is going and it will start with the painting party on January 31 and continue with getting the Lodge looking up to date and cleaned up. Also we will have a POS system in the tap room soon bringing us into the 21st century and we will be able to pay with plastic! We had our mid-year convention in January and the bartenders will all be taking TIPS training to help protect the Lodge against liability from over serving patrons. Meeting Dates to Note: l February 3 is nominations of Officers. The PER’s will be doing initiation at the meeting so come on down and support them and the new members. l February 17 is elections of Officers. Additionally, at this meeting there will be a hearing on a House Committee suspension of 2 members. This has not happened in a long time and will be a learning experience for many of us. Please try to make these meetings to nominate and vote to elect and support the incoming officers and your lodge. If you have any ideas on improvements, drink specials, Friday night food or anything involving the tap room please see Amy Potts or any of the House Committee members they are always eager for new ideas and easy to approach. Well thats it for now but please stay safe, warm, and cherish every day like it’s your last and remember to - Live Laugh, and Love! Thanks Pat for all you do and keep up the good work! Tip of the Antlers Members to thank this month: Tim Grivolsky for continuing to make great sandwiches on Saturdays. l Ed, Ron and Uncle Bob for their time running Karaoke. l Joe Mager III for always running a great trivia night! l Anyone else that has helped us - too many to thank! l What’s Happening The smoking lounge is a motion passed on the floor for a trial period until the end of this Lodge year. It is a designated area in the taproom with furniture, TV, and ventilation and quite cozy. It was passed to see if we can get some of the old members that will not come down because of the smell and or health reasons, and attract new members who do not smoke. Smoking was not banned in the tap room however is strongly discouraged during this trial period and greatly appreciated by all the members who smoke. If you choose to smoke in other places than the smoking lounge you may be approached and reminded of our lounge, this is so we can get an accurate picture and data if it makes a difference in our tap room or not. However this is not a venue for harassment or berating another member and this will not be tolerated and the House Committee will act swiftly if seen or a complaint is made. Things We Need Wet Swiffer mop & happy members! In Memory We would like to recognize one of our members who recently passed away unexpectedly, Bobbie Moyer, PER. She was a strong member of our lodge.
