What were the strengths and weaknesses of the program? 11 Using Results to Improve Student Success Results can help improve teaching and learning through: Curriculum 12 Instruction Methodology and Practice English 050 Outcomes: Write a basic college level essay that demonstrates the fundamentals of essay development and mechanics. Measure: 13 • Write an argumentative essay (1-2 pages or 300-500 words minimum) that asserts and supports a thesis. • Rubric calibration English 070 Outcomes: Write a clear, coherent, and concise college-level essay that utilizes proper grammar and mechanics. Measure: 14 • Write a persuasive essay (2-3 pages or 500-750 words minimum) that asserts an opinion regarding a current, controversial topic.. • Rubric calibration Implementation Timeline Fall 2014 • Full-time faculty (only) administered the assessment. Spring 2015 • Full-time faculty conducted calibration sessions using the assignment and rubric. • All faculty will administer the assignment. • Data will be collected and analyzed.
