This Week’s Successes & News
Writing Competition Winners
Mrs Gregory ran a writing competition that was open to all the children across the school
in the run up to World Book Day. There were lots of entries and this made Mrs
Gregory’s job of judging the best very difficult! However, the lucky winners were; Mikey
Montgomery, Lily Creed, Cayden Hards, Hetty Quigley, Rebecca Fletcher, Toby Jackson
and Gabrielle Sellier. They each won a £5.00 book voucher that could be used at the
Scholastics Book Fair. Well done to all that took part.

Congratulations to our Year 5/6 Cross Country Team who performed brilliantly in the
Island Cross Country Championships. This was held at Northwood County Show
Ground where the children had to run a tough 2km course including jumping over hay
bales. Special congratulations go to Charlotte Despard who finished in 1st place in the
girls race supported by Gabrielle Sellier in 3rd place and Abbie Duff in 5th place. A superb team
effort by all runners meant that Cowes Primary finished 2nd narrowly missing out on 1st place.
