Cathy Edmondson Community Engagement Coordinator City School District of Albany 518-475-6067 March 2, 2015 Dear Families: The City School District of Albany is implementing a new program for parents and guardians called Parent University. We are excited about this new initiative and will be launching Parent University this spring with events at William S. Hackett Middle School and Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School. Parent University is designed to help parents and guardians build strong, positive relationships with school that will lead to student success. Parent University events will include a series of workshops designed around a variety of topics we hope will be helpful to you. Our Parent University philosophy is that parenting, like any form of education, is a lifelong process. Our first Parent University event at Hackett Middle School will be held Wednesday, April 1st from 5-7:30 p.m. We invite you to take part in our first Parent University workshop. Parent University will begin with a homemade dinner prepared by Eugene’s Catering. There will also be a raffle. You will have time to sit, relax, talk to other parents and enjoy yourself.
