Title of Position: Communications Consultant Duty Station: Maputo, Mozambique Departments: Migration & Health, Labour Migration, Emergencies & Operations, Migrant Assistance Job Description The successful incumbent will be responsible for coordinating IOM’s internal and external communications, with an objective to increase IOM’s visibility and outreach capacity. In particular, the successful applicant will: a) Produce a communications strategy for IOM Mozambique. This task should include undertaking: i. An IOM global comparison, which involves collecting and collating information on the ways other IOM offices approach public relations and programmatic communications ii. An audit of existing materials, such as tool kits, templates, and guidelines for communications iii. A stakeholder analysis, which maps out target audiences b) Update and manage IOM’s online presence, including: i. A full update of the country website ii. Setting up and managing social media channels, as advised by the communications strategy c) Produce ongoing communication materials, including: d) i. Situations reports for the emergency flood response and other areas ii. Press releases, blog posts and newsletters iii. Coordinate high quality printing of materials for dissemination Attend meetings, including: i. Regular UN communications meetings and contribute to the wider communications objectives of United Nations agencies in Mozambique under a ‘UNOne’ framework. ii. Regular programmatic meetings to stay up-to-date with current projects.
