st
century life-long learners
and leaders.
Our third, fourth, and fifth grade students are in the process of
taking PARCC and are working very hard to make us proud! PARCC is
an assessment of reading and math achievement that is scored for each
child. The intent of the test is to provide educators, parents, and the
public with valuable information about the student, school, school
system and state performance with regards to learning standards
established by the Maryland State Department of Education. Parents
will receive test score information regarding their child(ren) once
available. We are thankful for the opportunity to work with your
children every day. Like you, we are committed to helping your child
achieve academic success. Together, we can help each child to be
successful.
This school year is passing by so quickly, but we want to take the
time to wish all of you a very happy spring. Spring cannot come soon
enough with all the snow and missed school days we’ve experienced.
We appreciate all you do to ensure your child’s daily success. Instilling
consistent routines and the importance of coming to school each day
and on time are skills that will serve your children well their entire
lives.
Next month:
Spring Break Friday, April 3—Sunday, April 12

The Values of the Month in March are Fitness and Skill! You can use the poems
below to help your child understand and demonstrate these values. Encourage your
child to represent these values at school and he/she could earn a Golden Gator!
Fitness
“When I am fit to run the race,
The other horses I can outpace.
Your fitness level must be great.
Success requires a healthy state.”
Skill
“To find success, you must have skill.
I learned my skill through hours of drill.”
