Efter arbejdet med disse tre digte skal eleverne selvfølgelig selv skrive et future poem, som kan hedde ”When I Grow Up”, ”When I am an old man/woman”, ”New Year Resolutions”, ”I’m going to…” eller noget helt andet. Løsning til Jenny Josephs ”Warning”: THE FUTURE IS COMING CLOSER I’m Learning to Play the Piano Today by Ken Nesbitt I’m learning to play the piano today Tomorrow I’ll learn to play the guitar The day after that I’ll get good on the drums So I can become a big star The next day I’ll learn how to sing and to rap And practice some dancing techniques And that way I’m sure to be famous and rich In no more than one or two weeks I just told my mother my excellent plan Explaining the millions I’ll earn She told me that firstly I’ll need to learn patience So how long does that take to learn? Bragt med tilladelse fra forfatteren. The Aliens Have Landed! by Kenn Nesbitt, http://www.poetry4kids.com Sæt streg under alle tidsudtryk. QUESTIONS: Why on earth does the mother tell him to learn patience? Tell about situations where you have been impatient. How long does it take to learn patience? Are you going to…? No, I’m not. Yes, I am. Find someone who is going to do these things. When someone answers Yes, I am, write his/her name in the box. is going to see a film at the cinema this month. is going to clean his/her room at the weekend. is going to play football at the weekend. …………………… ………………… …………………… is going to watch TV tonight. is going to get up late on Sunday. is going to visit a museum this month. ……………………. …………………… …………………… is going to play computer games tonight. is going to go shopping this week. is going to have a sleepover this month. ……………………. …………………… …………………… is going to cook dinner tonight. is going to visit grandparents this week. is going to do homework tonight. ……………………. ……………………. ……………………. QUESTIONS FOR A DOUBLE CIRCLE What are you going to do after school today? Tell me about your plans for the weekend. What do you think will happen at school tomorrow? What do you think the weather will be like tomorrow? Which countries and places are you going to visit in the future and what will you be doing there? How do you think the national football team is going to perform at the European championship? Pretend you’ve just won £5,000 in the lottery. Then tell what you’ll do with the money. What are you going to do after leaving this school? What will your life look like in 10 years from now? How do you think the world will change in 20 years from now? Warning Here are some words and expressions from Jenny Joseph’s poem. Match them with the Danish translation and fill out the table below. And how is she expected to live her life at the moment? So what is she going to do now, before she gets old? And why does she have to change things right now? How would you like your life to be as an old man or woman?
