St. Rose of Lima Parish Parroquia Santa Rosa de Lima In Christ, We are Bread for one another: Broken… we gather. Nourished… we reach out. ………………….....……………………………. En Cristo, Somos Pan para cada uno: Lo Dividimos… Nos Juntamos. Alimentados… tendemos la mano. A Living Response October 19, 2014 ORDINARY TIME 29 My dear brothers and sisters, St. Rose of Lima is very blessed to have you as members and Stewards of this Catholic Community. It is also my privilege to be the Pastor of this very generous community of faith because by the prayers and generous sharing of all of your gi s of Time, Talent and Treasure our parish is able to con nue to grow in faith, community, service and commitment to the poor and the needy. As you know, Jesus calls each of us to be disciples and witnesses. In saying "YES" to closely follow Him as the Body of Christ, we are accep ng an invita on that involves much more than saying, "I am a Chris an." In fact, His invita on calls us to specific ac on, to "STEWARDSHIP" as a living response to our faith and a necessary expression of what we say, believe and celebrate. Stewardship is not something new, but it does require constant renewal. That's why each Fall we pause as a family to consider how we are doing on our stewardship journey, both as individuals and, collec vely, as a parish. Our St. Rose family has a long history of parishioners generously sharing their Time, Talent, and Treasure, but in order to sustain both our parish programs and outreach to those beyond our boundaries, these gi s must be coupled with a renewed sense of Financial Stewardship. Our model in past years has been that of "Sacrificial Giving," prayerfully acknowledging that all our gi s are from God and, at the same me, recognizing that we should give back not just what we are comfortable with or can easily afford but to the extent that we are keenly aware that our gi sharing and thing are truly sacrificial. In recent years, due to many legi mate circumstances, we, as a parish, seem to have so ened our focus. This weekend's presenta on on offertory renewal followed by commitment weekend next week offer the opportunity for us to prayerfully examine our approach to giving back to the Lord for all that He has given us by financially suppor ng our parish. As gi ed members of this St. Rose family, I am now asking each of you to prayerfully consider your own personal ability and resources. I am further reques ng that each of you make a truly sacrificial pledge when deciding upon a gi of financial support to our wonderful parish this year. Let us pray that each one of us may be united in suppor ng the good works of St. Rose of Lima by making a generous financial pledge. May God and our Holy Mother Mary bless you for your support and generosity. 11701 Clopper Rd., Gaithersburg, MD 20878-1024 PHONE: 301-948-7545 FAX: 301-869-2170 EMERGENCIES (A er Hours): 301-355-8191 CANCELLATION INFORMATION: x307 WEBSITE: www.strose-parish.org EUCHARIST / EUCARISTÍA Historic Chapel / Capilla Histórica Monday-Friday................................... 8:30 am (English) 1er Viernes ........................................ 7:00 pm (Español) Sunday............................................... 7:15 am (English) 1er Dimanche................................... 10:00 am (Français) 2nd Sunday ........................................ 5:00 pm (Tagalog) Church / Iglesia Saturday Vigil ..................................... 5:00 pm (English) Sunday...... 8:45 am (English) & 11:15 am (English + ASL) Domingo ........................................... 1:00 pm (Español) RECONCILIATION / RECONCILIACIÓN Historic Chapel / Capilla Histórica Thursday........................ 7:00-9:00 pm (English/Español) Church / Iglesia Saturday ..................................... 4:00-4:30 pm (English) Domingo .................................... 2:15-3:15 pm (Español) BAPTISM PREPARATION / PREPARACIÓN PARA BAUTIZO Bap sm Classes Begin while pregnant or awai ng adop on.
