There are 4,810 of them. There were 635 added to their number last
year. They baptized 114,571 people in 2013. They lead the work in
28,008 different churches around the world. They started 6,192 new
churches last year. They work with 901 different people groups around
the world. Some of them live in dangerous places in this world where
they must keep secret what their mission is.
Who are they? They are your Southern Baptist missionaries. They
believe that Jesus Christ is God’s only provision for salvation and that
all people without a personal faith in Jesus are doomed and lost. They
have two sources of financial help: the gifts from the Cooperative
Program supported by churches like ours who send ten percent of our
money for their support every month, and the Lottie Moon Christmas
Offering for International Missions. The Lottie Moon Offering is
named after one of our most famous missionaries who gave her life in
China for 40 years until she starved to death in December 1912.
Each year in December we take up
a special offering to support our
missionaries who serve in the
brave tradition of Miss Lottie
Moon. Last year Southern Baptists
gave a total of $154 million. Our
church gave a total of $44,549.87.
Recently we were recognized as
the top-giving church in the Santa
Rosa Baptist Association. You can
see a picture of this award here in
this edition of The Beacon.
I hope you agree with me that we need to keep up our strong giving for
this missionary support. Most of us will never go to the international
mission field, but we can support those who do go. There are people
from our church serving right now across the globe. Let’s give them our
support. I always try to give you advanced notice that we’ll soon be
receiving this offering so you can get ready. I like to put some money
aside each week so I’ll be ready in December. Would you join me in
this great effort?

IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN!
Yes, it’s time to change your clocks by setting them BACK one hour on
Saturday night. You’ll get back that hour you lost back in the spring.
Remember FALL BACK on Saturday night and enjoy an extra hour of
sleep.

The scriptural description of

all sleep, but we shall all be
changed . . . (KJV)
Over 600 people enjoyed a night of popcorn, cotton candy,

second year in a row… Hammer It!

My philosophy of ministry with
preschoolers and children is
simple: If you love people’s
children, they will love you back.
First Milton provides cleanliness,
friendliness, and godliness. And
we need you to reach families.
Preschool Sunday School
volunteers needed: bed-babies
and toddlers.
Volunteers are also
needed in bed-babies
and toddlers on
Wednesday nights.
Don’t you want to work with
precious, cute, sweet, adorable,
gorgeous, likeable, yea verily
even lovable, always-smiling,
never-messy preschoolers.
To ensure the security of the
children entrusted to us,
volunteers must go through a
training/screening process. See
Elaine for details.
Adult Sunday School still needs
teachers for 2 senior adult ladies
classes. See Gary.
In addition to all of the “fun and games”, Daniel Weekley was
sharing the gospel as the children/families were making Ichthus
beaded key chains..
As you can see from the attendance, we have a tremendous
outreach opportunity with these families. I hope you will be a
part of our follow-up;
to change the world where we live through the Gospel.

Many Christian
entities, including the
Florida Baptist
Convention’s State
Board of Missions
and the Santa Rosa Baptist
Association are encouraging “no”
votes on Amendment 2. Whether
or not one agrees with the
politics, medical, or business
models, this spring the Florida
legislature passed The Florida
Medical Cannabis Act, taking
effect in January. Be informed
when you vote.
