JO SCHMITT and her six-week-old twin girls
Finley and Bailey were guests during Deerwood
Bank’s open house last week. The girls were
given a red stocking by Santa.
On Monday, Jan. 5, the
Cuyuna Range Women's club
will meet in the meeting room
of the Jessie F. Hallett
Memorial Library at 1 p.m.
The program is a very
special one, entitled ‘The
Miracle of the Mustard Seed’.
The ministry of this wonderful thrift store, and it's partner, Salem West, will be
described by the store manager, Deb Selk and volunteer
Kristy Tesdahl. This is a
presentation you will not
want to miss. Located in
Deerwood, this shop serves a
wide area and it will be truly
exciting to learn what all the
volunteer efforts accomplish.
It is very deserving of its
incredible reputation.
A favorite musical duo,
saxophonist Chuck Hagberg,
and pianist Sally Mann, will
collaborate on performing
"winter songs" to lift our New
Year spirits.
The brief business meeting will be chaired by president
Myrna
Nelson.
Refreshments will be served
by the committee of Betty
Brager, Sally Mann and
Cindy Wewers.
All Cuyuna Range area
women are invited to attend
this meeting and encouraged
to join the Women's Club.
Antonio
Fontelonga,
M.D., of the Virginia Piper
Cancer Institute will serve as
interim oncologist at Cuyuna
Regional Medical Center’s
Cancer Care Center in Crosby
beginning January 2. He will
replace Ron Halvorson, M.D.,
who is leaving at the end of
the year.
Dr. Fontelonga has more
than 37 years of internal medicine experience, combined
with 20 years of oncology and
hematology practice. His
articles have been published in
numerous medical journals
and he has served as academic
faculty at the University of
Nevada Oncology Program.
Dr. Fontelonga will treat
patients as CRMC continues
to partner with the Virginia
Piper Cancer Institute to
recruit a permanent medical
oncologist.
Since 2010, CRMC has
partnered with the Virginia
Piper Cancer Institute to provide exceptional oncology
care to Crosby area residents.
The partnership and program
is designed around a multidisciplinary approach to treatment, including access to outstanding surgical care, med-
