A home with gleaming windows Of dancing candle light, Glistening stars of silver High o'er a blanket of shimmering white. Crimson poinsettias 'mid holly and pine, Shining balls on a tree, Happy children's faces Makes Christmas precious to me. Candy canes of red and white, Presents with satin bows, A friendly chat with a loved one By an amber log that glows. A Bible on the mantle Bright eyes of a girl and a boy As they hear the Christmas story Singing Christmas joys. A tiny Babe in a manger God's gift from heaven above, The very reason for Christmas Perfected through His love. ~ Ruth H. Underhill ~ Welcome! I am ready to welcome the new! Today I honor what has been and welcome what is to come. I give thanks for the year that is ending, for all my experiences, and the growth of my soul. I am ready to say goodbye to past events, the challenges that strengthen my faith, and the blissful moments that made me whole. I create a personal ceremony for letting go. I imagine myself as a sacred vessel from which I pour out the past. With each gentle breath, I release everything to God. Reverently, I let go. I feel lighter in mind, body, and soul. I rest in the holy emptiness, trusting Spirit to fill it with Divine Love. On the threshold of a new beginning, I am ready to welcome new growth. I am cleansed, refreshed, and optimistic. I am grateful and open to God’s good. I am about to create new heavens…a new earth; the former things shall not be remembered. - Isaiah 65:17 -Daily Word SHEDULE FOR December 28, 2014 – January 4, 2015 Sunday 10:00am Worship Service 11:15 am Refreshments, Lind Room 7:30pm A/A Meeting, Friendship Hall Monday 7:30pm Boy Scouts, Friendship Hall Tuesday 12:15pm Lunch/Bible Study 7-8pm Handbell Choir Practice Wednesday Office closed New Years Eve 7:00pm A/A Meeting, Friendship Hall Thursday HAPPY NEW YEAR Friday Office closed Saturday 10-11am Wellness class/Zumba exercise, FH 7:00pm A/A Meeting, Hansen Room Sunday 10:00am Holy Communion Service 11:15am Refreshments , Lind Room 7:30pm A/A Friendship Hall __________________________________________________________ THE UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH 525 East Front Street Plainfield, NJ 07060 908-756-2666 FAX 908-756-4212 Website:http://www.upcplainfield.org Pastor: Rev.
