Anniversary Notes:
The name of Grace Memorial (United)
Baptist Church was chosen in memory
of Grace Machum Matheson for her
dedication to Christian service in
Fredericton and later as a missionary
in India. There had been a “name our
church” meeting at the old George St
Baptist Church in January, 1964.
Suggestions were presented and this
one was approved. Grace Matheson died August 9, 1963, in
Cooner, India.

Messages in January
Body Building (Building up the Body of Christ)
In Scripture one of the most frequent
and meaningful images of the Church is
“the body.” Paul wrote, “The church is
the body of Christ, and is fill by Christ in
every way.” (Ephesians 4:23) As we
begin this special fiftieth anniversary
year, we will look this month at what it
means to be the church in our time. Why
do we exist? How are we to live? Is the
church still relevant and important
today? How can we strengthen the work we are called to? We
begin this morning by remembering though we are all important
parts of the body, the Head of the Body is Christ.
Convention Prayer Update
Pray for wisdom, vision and sensitivity to God’s Spirit for our
Executive Minister, Dr. Peter Reid, as he provides leadership to
our Convention. Church to pray for: Faith Baptist Church, New
Maryland, Pastor – Pastor Larry Matthews.
Prayer Groups
Prayer groups meet in the church parlour on Monday
mornings from 7:00-7:50 AM (Pastor Peter) and
Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 PM (Roger
Richardson). Anyone is welcome to join at any time.
CBM Prayer Line
Thanks to our Canadian Baptist partners, churches and friends
who make our work possible. We have helped build homes,
share God’s Word, save lives, provide care & resources, teach
skills, send teams overseas, and raise funds to support projects
in the field. Please pray for CBM’s continued work in 2015.
Epiphany: Today is the day of Epiphany marking the end of the
12 days of Christmas. It is a celebration of the revelation of the
birth of Jesus to the wider world. Remember the people in your
life and pray on behalf of others.
Field Staff Transitions: Jonathan & Jan Mills and Ken &
Wendy Derksen will serve in Africa in 2015; Rupen & Mamta
Das are in Europe to serve the Baptist network in Europe and
the Middle East. Duane & Carin Guthrie will be in marketplace
ministry.
Annual Reports are due at the Church Office by Jan 19
Please and thank you.
