Anniversary Notes: The name of Grace Memorial (United) Baptist Church was chosen in memory of Grace Machum Matheson for her dedication to Christian service in Fredericton and later as a missionary in India. There had been a “name our church” meeting at the old George St Baptist Church in January, 1964. Suggestions were presented and this one was approved. Grace Matheson died August 9, 1963, in Cooner, India. Why do we exist? How are we to live? Is the church still relevant and important today? How can we strengthen the work we are called to? We begin this morning by remembering though we are all important parts of the body, the Head of the Body is Christ.
