FOOD DRIVE
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul here in St. Teresa
church is sponsoring a Food Drive to fill our Food Pantry and help those in need from our parish. On the last
Sunday of each month, please bring to the church any
of the following items: cereal, rice, oil, pastas, sugar,
tomato sauce, juices, beans, tuna, soup, canned vegetables and peanut butter. Next Sunday, January 25th.

BLESSING OF CANDLES
Monday, February 2nd is the Feast of the
Presentation of Our Lord, commonly
called “Candlemas Day”. It is the custom
for candles to be blessed on that day for
use in Church and at home. Bring candles
to the 8 am Mass that day and they will be
blessed and then may be brought home.
FEAST OF SAINT BLAISE
Tuesday, February 3rd the traditional
blessing of throats will be offered on
that day at the 8am Mass.

MASS BOOK 2015
The Mass book for 2015 is now open. Each person can request up to 12 masses. The Stipend for
each Mass is $15.
OUR LADY OF ALTAGRACIA
You are invited to join in the
celebration honoring our Lady
of Altagracia, Spiritual Protector
of the Dominican people. Mass
will take place on Sunday, January 25th at 10:30am. We will
have a
triduum of Rosary beginning Thursday 22, Friday 23 and Saturday 24,
at 7:30 pm in Church. We will culminate with the
celebration after mass in the auditorium. Thank
you for your prayers and support.

COLECTA DE COMIDA
La Sociedad de San Vicente de Paul de Santa Teresa,
auspicia la recolección de alimentos enlatados para la
dispensa y ayudar a los mas necesitados de nuestra
parroquia. Por favor traiga cada ultimo fin de semana
de cada mes cualquiera de los siguientes alimentos:
cereales, arroz, aceite, pastas, azúcar, salsa de tomate,
jugos, frijoles, atún, sopa, vegetales enlatados y
mantequilla de maní. Próximo Domingo, 25 de enero.

BENDICIÓN DE VELAS
Lunes 2 de febrero es la fiesta de la
presentación de nuestro Señor,
comúnmente llamado "Día de la
Candelaria". Es la costumbre bendecir las
velas ese día para su uso en la iglesia y en
el hogar. Traer velas a Misa ese día y serán
bendecidos y luego pueden llevar a casa.
FIESTA DE SAN BLAS
El martes, 3 de febrero la tradicional
bendición de gargantas se ofrecerá ese
día a la misa de las 8 am.
NUEVO CORO DE ADULTOS
Los ensayos comienzan el martes,
27 de enero, de 7 a 8:00 pm para el
nuevo coro de adultos. Para más

Get out your dancing shoes and rest up
because Tony K. and the Boardwalk, a
live 6-man Oldies Group playing songs
from the “50’s-60’s” and ….will be at
St. Teresa’s on Saturday night, February 7th for a night
of dancing, fun and reliving memories with friends and
families! It should be a blast from the past!! Tickets
are $20 per adult/$35 per couple. Refreshments/Chips
provided. No one under 21 admitted. For tickets

2014 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL
The Diocesan Annual Catholic Appeal for 2014 ended
December 31, 2014. The final report shows that St.
Teresa Parish had 186 donors, of whom twenty did not
complete their pledges.
Our parish goal was
$41,195.00. The total amount paid was $44,488.50,
meaning that we will receive a check from the Diocese
later this month for nearly $3,300.
The amounts pledged, and paid, ranged from $2.50 to
$4,500.00. It just goes to show that no matter how
large, or small, the pledge, TOGETHER we can
achieve success.
Thank you to all who participated and made our Appeal
a success again this year.
SING IT OUT!
Last weekend we welcomed back Natalie Escudero as
our liturgical Leader of Song. Natalie attended our
school and sang for a number of years in our choirs.
She leads song from a podium next to the pulpit in the
sanctuary, so she may be seen and encourage the active
singing of the entire congregation.. Saint Augustine
said— “He who sings, prays twice!” So lift your
voices and make a joyful noise unto the Lord!

CAMPAÑA ANUAL CATÓLICA DEL 2014
La Campaña Católica Anual Diocesana para 2014
terminó el 31 de diciembre de 2014. El informe final
muestra que parroquia de Santa Teresa tenía 186
donantes, de los cuales veinte no completó sus promesas. Nuestra meta parroquial fue $41,195.00. El monto
total pagado fue de $44,488.50, lo que significa que
recibiremos un cheque de la diócesis de finales de este
mes por casi $3,300.
Las cantidades prometidas y pagado, oscilan entre los
$2.50 a $4,500.00. Sólo va a demostrar que no importa
cuán grande o pequeño, el compromiso, juntos podemos lograr éxito.
Gracias a todos los que participaron y había hecho
nuestra apelación un éxito este año.

La semana pasada recibimos de vuelta Natalie
Escudero como nuestro líder litúrgica de la canción.
Natalie asistió a nuestra escuela y cantó para un número de años en nuestros coros. Lleva la canción de un
nido de podio al púlpito en el Santuario, así que puede
ser visto y animar el canto activo de toda la congregación... San Agustín dijo: "Quien canta, ora dos veces!"
CORO DE NINOS DE
SANTA TERESA
Acá en la parroquia de Santa
Teresa, estamos comenzando un
nuevo coro de niños.
 Nuestro primer ensayo será el
Viernes, 30 de Enero arriba en el balcón de la
iglesia.
 Los ensayos serán los Viernes a las 3:30pm4:30pm.
 El Coro de Niños canta durante la Misa cada
domingo alternando entre la Misa de 10:30 en
español y la Misa de 12:00 en Ingles, así como
otros eventos especiales durante el año.
 Requisitos: El Coro de Niños esta abierto para los
que tienen la edad del tercer grado hasta el octavo
grado que le gusta cantar. Cantaremos en Ingles y
español.
 Los miembros del coro deben de ser puntuales para
todos los ensayos y las Misas. Asistencia a los
ensayos y las Misas es esencial para que el coro
este en su mejor forma y es una garantía para que
los coristas crezcan en sus habilidades.
 Padres/Madres tienen que dar su consentimiento,
firmando un formulario de permiso.

RETREAT WEEKEND
Bishop Molloy Retreat House, a Passionist Spiritual
Center in Jamaica Estates, welcomes the men/women
of St Teresa parish to participate in a retreat on the
weekend of Jan. 30th to Feb. 1st.
The retreat opens with dinner at 7pm on Friday and
concludes with Mass at 11 am on Sunday.
