It is one he shares. All of us are called to be sons and daughters of God. In Jesus, we can all claim God’s favor. The second reading makes this clear. Here we read of the baptism of Cornelius and his household. Peter’s speech recalls the anointing of Jesus by the Holy Spirit and the great power that swept through Israel and onto the doorstep of the Gentile Cornelius. As for his household, so for us. There is an end to our work on earth, to our baptismal vocation and the honorable work we do. But there is no end to the saving life given to us through baptism. There is no end to the life of the children of God; there is no end to God’s compassion which we know in Christ Jesus. There is no end to our status as chosen and beloved people of God. In addition to being Sunday, January 25th is the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul one of the feast days for our parish. We will be showing a movie in the parish center and selling refreshments as well as dvd’s of our 50th Anniversary celebration that took place this past October. Please save the date on your calendar and help to support our church. Let us celebrate the Lord’s Day and ask for the intercession of St. Paul in this New Year. Pledges for Parish Center Repairs Your contributions to this special project is very important. To date parishioners have donated $43,262.92. Everyone’s contribution is important to raise the funds needed. Let us work together to fix our floor and sidewalk. Pledge slips may be picked up at the doors of the church or at the rectory. Year of Consecrated Life Pope Francis has named this Church Year as the Year of Consecrated Life. Next Sunday, January 18th two consecrated religious will be visiting our parish to talk about consecrated life. Sr. Margaret Anne Meyer of the congregation of the Medical Missionaries of Mary will be speaking at the 10am and 11:45am Masses. Sr. Liceria Sayon from the congregation of Sisters of St. John the Baptist will be speaking to the children in our school of religion. Let us pray for all those in consecrated life that they may be given the strength to continue to do God’s work and that all members of the church may respond generously to God’s call. La conversión de St. Paul - 25 de enero En dos semanas, el 25 de enero, vamos a hacer una mención especial a nuestro patrón St. Paul en las Misas dominicales. Además de ser Domingo, 25 de enero es la fiesta de la Conversión de St. Paul uno de los días de fiesta para nuestra parroquia. Estaremos mostrando una película en el centro parroquial y vendedores de refrescos, así como los dvd de nuestra celebración del 50 aniversario el pasado mes de octubre. Por favor, guarde la fecha en su calendario y ayudar a apoyar nuestra iglesia. Celebremos el Día del Señor y pedir la intercesión de San Pablo.
