SCRAP FOR CHANGE:
Raising money to change the world.
The dumpster has arrived and will be in
the parking lot for the month of April!
Ferrous metal (magnetcis) can go inside
the dumpster. Examples of ferrous metal
includes sheet iron (washers, dryers,
bikes, etc), heavy metals (cast iron,
machinery), and plate and structural (I
beams, steel plates, etc). Non-ferrous
metals (non-magnetci) go next to the
dumpster on the ground. Signs are
posted next to the dumpster with this
information as well. ALSO - we would
like to extend a “Thank you!” to Regal’s
Scrap yard in Howell who has agreed to
come pick up (and pay us for!) massive
pieces of steel - like old train cabooses
(true story!).
ANNUAL GARAGE SALE GIVEAWAY
Our annual garage sale giveaway will
be Saturday, May 24 from 9am -12pm
in the parking lot of McCormick park. If
you have items you wish to donate please
bring them to the parking lot of the park
the morning of May 24 at 8am.
CULVER’S FUNDRAISER
Not that you need a reason to go eat
ice cream...but here’s a good one!
We have teamed up with the Okemos
Culver’s again for a fundraiser for the
Children’s mission trip to Kenosha, WI
this July. Come to the Okemos Culver’s
on Thursday April 24 between 4pm and
10pm and 5% of all sales will go to
benefit the mission trip.
JOY UNIVERSITY CARNIVAL
Our end of the year carnival is just
around the corner! The carnival will be
Wednesday April 30 from 6pm-8pm in
the church parking lot/fellowship hall
(weather permitting). We will have a
petting zoo, food, games, and prizes.
Students have been earning tickets to use
in the games all year for participating in
the week’s theme, bringing friends to Joy
U, and memorizing Bible verses. Tickets
will also be available for purchase the
night of the carnival (5/$1). Contact
Aaron Mayes (517-862-2116) or

ADULT GROWTH CLASSES
-- Join Any Class at Any Time --
•THE STORY - Sundays at 9:30 am “The Story” curriculum will open your eyes to
God’s master-plan as it unfolds in the lives of the Bible’s characters. Discover the
heart of God’s story and the joy that comes as you align your story with God’s.
Room 105 with Pastor Brad Lockwood
•WISDOM FROM THE BIBLE - Sundays 9:30 am Our growth as Christians involves
a change of mind, not only a change of heart. This change of mind occurs as
the Holy Spirit shapes our understanding through the Word. Therefore, the study
of biblical wisdom plays an important role in our spiritual maturity. This class
provides us with an opportunity to gain that essential, biblical perspective on life.
Room 204 with Tom Davis.
•BASIC TRAINING FOR A FEW GOOD MEN - Sundays at 9:30 am (Men) It’s
easy to be a man, but it’s hard to be a good one. The excuses of the weak and
the wimpy are endless...Life isn’t fair. The playing field isn’t level. The rat race
of the marketplace gets old - fast! Basic Training For a Few Good Men will
build you up in order for you to be free to “be all that you can be,” a man of
convictions, commitments, compassion, and courage. Room 203 with Robert
Proctor.
•DIVORCECARE - Thursdays at 6:30 pm Most people tell you that separation and
divorce are the most painful and stressful experiences in life. The DivorceCare
group meets weekly to help you face these challenges. DivorceCare group
participants spend time as a support group discussing what was presented in that

WINDOW ON THE WORLD: EUROPE
Ukraine: Continue to pray for the people of Ukraine in these days of political tensions.
Remember the FM national team who endeavor to plant simple churches (a simple
church may meet anywhere; with or without trained leaders, formal liturgy, programs
or structures) where there are no evangelical churches. Begin praying now for the
children’s summer camp in villages and for open hearts to Jesus.
God answers prayers and He is listening any time you talk with Him. We have a new and exciting way to
submit your prayer requests and let others know you’ve prayed for them. Visit our new prayer site at www.
