Our first reading prescribes how to grow in holiness and in our relationship with God and others. In the second reading, we are told that we are temples of the Holy Spirit. In the Gospel, Jesus takes the teaching to love our neighbour as ourselves, which is found in our first reading, and expands it to include loving our enemies.
