10 Reasons Why Catholics
Don’t Have to Worry
(Part 2 of 2)
Worry comes when we feel powerless to affect our circumstances. For example, when we hear about layoffs or foreclosures in our town, we worry that we might be next. Yet
Catholics know that freedom from worry comes with knowing that God is in control and trusting him to do what’s best.
We know that he loves us, wants the best for us, and is taking good care of us. “We know that all things work for good
for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28).
6. God knows best. Pursuing goals like wealth or personal
acclaim without first seeking God’s approval leads to
failure. There is no peace in going against God’s will.
Instead, be open and place all your hopes, plans, and
efforts at God’s feet. Let him decide what is best for
you.
7. Acceptance brings peace. Catholics learn to live with
what we cannot control. When you let God help you
come to terms with what can’t be changed, you have the
peace acceptance brings.
8. The Church provides answers. It isn’t always easy to
discern God’s will, so Jesus created the Catholic Church
to help. When you need answers, turn to Scripture. Or,
talk to your priest, deacon or other religious. After all,
helping us grow closer to God is what they do best.
9. We are always in the Divine Presence. Seek frequent
opportunities to make yourself aware of him. God walks
with us through the messy parts of our lives and encourages us when we worry. Be watchful for his presence.
10. Worry is wearing. If you worry too much, it impacts
your relationships, your health, your peace. Try to stay
calm for your sake as well as for those around you.
“Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good
word makes him glad”.

May 14th: Jonah (chapters 1-4), May 21st: the Woman at the Well (Jn 4:4-42) May 21st: the Journey of the Magi (Mt 2:1-12). By exploring these stories, we will come to a deeper understanding of the dynamics of conversion in our own life: how to discern God's call to us, how to overcome the obstacles we put up to answering the call, and the fruit of saying "yes" to God. We will use Fr. Robert Barron's DVD series and combine it with scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, discussion ques ons and sharing. For more informa on, please call Fr. A Mother's Love
There are times when only a mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappoints
And calm all of our fears.
There are times when only a mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we've dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.
There are times when only a mother's
faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.
For a mother's heart and a mother's faith
And a mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the angels
And sent from God above.
