He works on innovation dynamics, policies for energy innovation, and multilateral collaboration in innovation policy. From 2009 to 2012 he headed the Knowledge and Innovation Analysis Team in the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) in London John J. Ackerman III Director of Innovation NILU John J. Ackerman III is innovation director at NILU. NILU has had several innovation projects that have resulted in the development of new companies. Ackerman works to get innovations from scientists to become sustainable enterprises. NILU has several such projects in different stages. Ackerman will share with us how NILU are working to make this happen. Dr. Abigail Barrow Director Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center (MTTC) Prior to joining the MTTC, Dr. Barrow has served as managing director of William J. von Liebig Center at the University of California San Diego (UCSD). The von Liebig Center was created in 2001 to support the commercialization of research being performed in the UCSD Jacobs School of Engineering. At CONNECT, she developed and expanded many of its programs to support early-stage company formation and technology commercialization. Dr. Barrow is on the board of the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA) and on the scientific advisory board of Norway's Simula Research Laboratory. Ron Sutherland Innovation Norway Boston USA Ron Sutherland from Innovation Norway in Boston has extensive experience working with business development and linking Norwegian and American companies and organizations. He has a very good overview of the framework for renewable energy in the United States. Ron also has a good overview on how the Americans stimulate and support early-stage company. Ron has been invited to speak about The US-market for cleantech: Opportunities and Challenges Aage Bjørn Andersen CEO Sea-lix AS Aage Bjørn Anderesen has extensive experience as an entrepreneur. He was one of the central characters in forming Oceanseaver which became successful business. Currently he is working on several renewable energy projects. Aage Bjørn Anderesen is invited to share his experiences as an entrepreneur. Sein-Way Tan is on the Advisory Board of Global Urban Development, on the Steering Committee of the UN Habitat (United Nations) World Urban Campaign, Climate Prosperity Alliance and Data Cities. Sein-Way Tan is an advisor for many governments in Asia including the Chinese Government on creating green cities.
