You had booked a table for four, hadn’t you? ¾ Customer: That’s right. Do you have a high chair? ¾ Head waiter: This way, please. The waiter/waitress will bring you the high chair in a minute. ¾ Customer: Thank you. ¾ Head waiter: Here is your table. ¾ Customer: Wonderful, thank you. takaisin Kuuntele keskustelu Asiakkaalla ei ole pöytävarausta ¾ Head waiter: Have you got a table reservation? / Have you booked a table? ¾ Customer: No, I haven’t. Do we need one? (Hyvin hämmästynyt ääni.) ¾ Head waiter: Unfortunately the restaurant is fully booked at the moment but I’m sure we can manage to get you a table in about half an hour. ¾ Customer: Oh no, I cannot believe this. What should we do now?! ¾ Head waiter: We do have a very cosy wine bar on the second floor where you can take an aperitif while waiting for your table. ¾ Customer: Thank you but we do not fancy any drinks now. I suppose we should go somewhere else then… ¾ Head waiter: Of course you can also wait here in the lounge, read daily newspapers and watch TV. ¾ Customer: Oh, that sounds good. We’ll sit here then. ¾ Head waiter: Ok, fine, I will arrange a table for four as soon as possible. Do you need a high chair for your toddler? ¾ Customer: Yes, please, that would be very friendly of you. ¾ Head waiter: Please, do sit down. It’s always very busy on Saturday evenings. ¾ Customer: Is it really so that you do not have a table for four all evening?! Cannot be true! We will wait. ¾ Head waiter: I’m so sorry but we do have people waiting already and I can’t possible get you a table tonight. ¾ Customer: Oh well, could you recommend some other place nearby? ¾ Head waiter: Our chain has another very nice family restaurant a few hundred meters towards the market square. I can give them a call and check if they have got any space. ¾ (CALLING…) ¾ … on what name shall they make the reservation? ¾ Customer: Pöyhönen. (Spells the name!) ¾ (Head waiter makes the reservation.) ¾ Head waiter: The table is booked for you.
