is unique in that it is in downtown Oakland in a heavily traveled corridor. There are

includes typical streetscape improvements in addition to specialty plaza paving,
bioinfiltration areas (rain gardens), fountain mechanical system and historical
fountain conservation and restoration.

PLANT MAINTENANCE PROJECTS PRE-ANOXIC Div 1-5, 7-11 & 15-17. The Work will consist of the construction in three primary
BASINS, AERATION SYSTEM, AND SECONDARY areas of the plant including the construction of additional Pre-Anoxic Basins, Blower
CLARIFIER
and Aeration improvements to the oxidation ditch systems, and construction of a
third secondary clarifier and RAS pump station.
PRE-ANOXIC BASINS: Two additional, 30’ by 30’ Pre-Anoxic basins will be added
to both the north and the south oxidation ditch system trains. These basins will be
open topped and mixed by means of floor mounted mixers. Stainless steel gates
will be installed to facilitate operation.
AERATION SYSTEM: Two blower buildings with two high speed turbo blowers each
will be added to the oxidation ditch system. Fine bubble diffusers will be added to
the floor of the existing oxidation ditch system to replace the existing surface
aerators. The existing surface aerators will be operated to create the recirculation
flow required in the ditches. Aeration piping will convey the aeration air from the
blowers to the diffusers. Switchgear will be to provide the power required at the
blowers.
CLARIFIER: The Work also includes construction of a 130’ diameter secondary
clarifier to operate in parallel with the plants two existing secondary clarifiers. This
clarifier will be supported with the construction of a Return Activated Sludge (RAS)
pump station and supporting electrical.
The Work will also include integration of the above construction into the Wastewater
Treatment Plant communications network.

PROGRAM MULE CREEK STATE PRISON (MCSP) part of the Health Care Facility Improvement Program (HCFIP). The purpose of this
Project at MCSP is to remedy deficiencies in its existing health care components.
The Project consists of five sub-projects, which includes one to three sub-phases
within the sub-project. The Scope of Work includes, but is not limited to, demolition,
renovation, building pad preparation, accessible paths of-travel and infrastructure
upgrades. The Projects are located within the existing secure perimeter. The new
buildings and additions will be slab-on-grade with exterior fully grouted structural
concrete masonry unit walls, metal framed interior walls, and a single-ply type, fully
adhered over rigid insulation roof assembly. Utility relocation will be necessary for
the construction of the new buildings, including communication/signal, electrical,
storm drain, water, and sewer lines. All existing buildings are sprinklered with the
exception of: SUB-PROJECT #2 (Primary Care Clinic Renovation). Automatic
sprinkler systems will be installed for I-3 and B occupancy in new buildings in
accordance with the requirements of the California Building Code. Paving and
resurfacing work includes, but is not limited to, the following: new sidewalks and
asphalt at accessible parking stalls, new concrete and asphalt at the new buildings,
all sidewalks, and path-of-travel. The sub-projects are as follows:
SUB-PROJECT #1 - Central Health Services Renovation. Approximately 5,000 sq.
ft. of the existing Central Health Services Building will be renovated to provide
appropriately sized Triage and Treatment Area (TTA), specialty care and clinical
spaces. The renovated TT A will include two standard bays, one urgent bay, an

the construction duration. All utilities and sitework associated with these new

existing relocatables and will be required to demolish and remove (7) seven
relocatable classrooms and (2) two portable toilet buildings.
After construction completion of the new classroom buildings, the utilities from the
interim housing relocatable buildings will be disconnected in preparation for the
District removal of these relocatables. The existing basketball court will be resurfaced and re-striped and new basketball poles and backstops will be installed to
restore the court to the original condition.
