Take your current knowledge of academic
research and apply it in a collaborative
setting, much like in the US college
classroom and laboratory research
environments.
Exploring US College and
University Culture
Learn more about the academic and social
norms and expectations of the US college
campus, including the different types of
classes offered, the resources available to
international students, and the day in the life
of a typical student. You will also gain a better
understanding of the US admissions process.
Academic Discourse and Communication
Fine tune your academic writing and
experience the iterative drafting process with
feedback from instructor and peers. You will
also prepare and give public presentations.
Refining Individual
Learning Strategies
Master your learning style! Through the
content in this module as well as continued
reflection throughout the course, improve your
planning, learning strategies, and time
management skills. You will also learn to think
meta-cognitively—a critical skill for long term
growth and success in college.
