Therefor many systems, like the ventilation system, where not properly inspected or tested when handed over to Danske Faerger A/S. Since then, the crew on M/S Kanhave have had no idea if the ventilation systems lived up to the international or national standards, or even if the systems matches the drawings they were giving by that time. Neither was the systems properly regulated, so the systems worked at its maximum all the time, which might be unnecessary. This project is there for divided into three categories: Mapping the accommodation ventilation systems Visual inspections of the ventilation systems has been made, to determine whether it matches the drawings, and to make sure, if a cleaning is necessary. In addition, M/S Kanhave needs to meet the requirements from both international and national standards. After analyzing and calculating the ventilation systems to the accommodation, it matches the drawings with a few minor faults. Initially before and after the regulation, it meets the requirements from the standards. Regulation of the accommodation ventilation A regulation on the accommodation ventilation will be performed. The regulation is done with the use of the proportionalities method. The regulation proves to be done successfully, where almost all canals is within the approved tolerances – except by a few amount of canals, where solutions will be mentioned in the project. Energy optimization Novenco will be contacted, which will make an offer to a set of new ventilation fans and motors. The new system will be able to regulate on the air, which is highly needed and cost efficient. There will also be taking contact to a local electrical service firm on Samsø, which will make an offer on an overhaul of the ventilation fans and motors. Then these two offers will be analyzed, calculated and discussed to find out, which is the best and cheapest option. With a payment method, it shows that the new set of fans and motors will be payed back within 16 months, which is then is concluded to be the best solution.
