Near the finish line of the city marathon, the first bomb explodes. One of the runners falls down on the spot. Twelve seconds later, at a distance of one block from there, the second explosion. The bombs were hidden so that they would hit the great crowd that gathered. Three are killed on site, among them (was) also Marin Richard, an eight year old boy who came to cheer his father on in the run. A hundred and forty four injured are rushed to the hospitals, seventeen in critical condition and twenty five in bad condition. These were highly powerful bombs that were concealed in dumpsters, with palettes destined to intensify the force of the hit. Very quickly the authorities reach the conclusion that this (was) a terrorist attack.
